Rosie went to live with the foster family of  John and Randee White.  As you might imagine they had quite a challenge on their hands with a fearful and unsocialized dog, whose behaviour was so out of control they named her "Lulu", eventually shortened to Lou.  After many months of loving care, good nutrition, hundreds of pats on the head and completion of a series of dog obedience classes, Rosie was transformed!  Housebroken, well-trained, spayed, up to date with all vaccinations and in good health, Rosie was available for adoption.

It was at that point that our life together began.  On August 5, 2005, Rosie was placed in my home.  Since that time we've been through a move of our own - from our home in Smyrna to a new home in Nashville.  We walk twice a day, and Rosie is quite the fixture in the neighborhood - people wave, cars slow down for their drivers to say hello, and children call her name from their yards.   My friends have her picture on their refrigerators or in frames in their offices.  She loves outdoor gatherings - we've been to Bark in the Parks, Mutt Strutts, Earth Days, and walked on greenways in three counties.  Her favorite spot is in a chair in the bay window that looks out into the neighborhood, from there she carefully watches the activities of all who go by.

It's hard to express the gratitude I feel toward BBR, and the many volunteers who helped Rosie through donations or hands-on care.  I know that many times when you make a donation to a "worthy" cause, you might wonder if the funds will be well used.  Please come see me - look at the scrapbook I made for Rosie that contains pictures of the home she was removed from, then look at her now.  BBR made that possible.  My sincerest thanks to you all.
