I love basset hounds and hope to someday be able to foster them. I can't believe anyone would ever hurt these cute loving animals. Keep up the good work!

Wonderful new website. Oh those pics are just so heartwarming. I love Bassets more than ANY other dog.

Hello, Me and my mom liked looking at your site a bunch. My human sister is away today so we are spending special time. I like to look at other dogs like me. Mom says maybe one day she would like to have another Bassie come live with us as a "foster" just until she finds out if we play well together. This is my family FOREVER. I would like to help another find a forever like I did. Thanks Again. Layla Jane

I adopted Bubba from Bluegrass Basset Rescue in June, 2008. He is them most precious dog. He sleeps with my husband and me and is such a joy. We are all very happy together.

I love the bassett, they are so cute, sweet and loyal. My husband and I adopted a bassett hound, and when we moved I could and could not take her with us, she had become so much like family that we left her with our friends who have a few dogs of their own. We miss our baby girl, we go to visit her everytime we go to see family. Our plan is to get her back as soon as we are finished with school and can find a house of our own again. Thanks to those wonderful animals for bringing such joy to our lives!

A Basset followed us home while walking our two dogs. We live in downtown Louisville and dogs don't wander around here. I took him to the vet and he is not micro chipped. He does have fleas, dirty ears and is emaciated. He's a very sweet boy (in tact) but I'm not sure we can handle a third dog. Can you tell me how I would go about getting him in a Basset Rescue situation? If he does have a home nearby, it isn't a good one. Thanks for your help! - Indigo

I am the proud owner of 3 wonderful basset babies. Two of which came from Bluegrass Basset, Betty Boop which I have had for the past 6 years and Spencer which I adopted Jan. 2008. I also have Sammy which we adpoted March 2009. These three dogs are such a joy. Betty Boop is wonderful...the is the RULER of the pack. We love her so very much as well as the boys. Everyone needs more than one basset baby.

i was wondering if you knew of a beagle rescue in Ky or Tn. I work at the fort campbell animal shelter. we got in 2 beagles that are about 7 and 8 years old. I don't want them put down so i am trying to find a rescue. No one seems interested in them because they are as old as they are. My boss/vet clinic have given me a week to find some where. If you can help me that would be great.

I adopted Otter in 2007. He is the best little boy and faithful friend, and has me wrapped around his little toe. Thank you so much!

Dixie, whom we adopted in August 2008, is doing wonderful. She is a happy, wiggly little girl with the BEST manners. We wanted to thank you again for giving her care and shelter so she could find a home with us. Tell Rusty we said hello!!
